This is a celebration of fitness, fun and "fido", whether you walk it or jog it, with a dog or without, this event is nothing but fun.

Set in downtown Minneapolis on the Stone Arch Bridge, the Dog Day 5K is sure to be one of the highlights of summer for you and your furry friend.  This is a timed 5K so whether you choose to walk it or run, you will know how fast you and your companion like to go.

*RAIN or SHINE  *note on the "rain" part.  The event is subject to cancellation or postponement if the weather involves lightning or other extreme conditions.

For a course map or directions, click here!

Last minute event details:

  • 7:30 am to 9:00 am - Pre-registration & Walk-up registration, social time with dogs and our great vendors
  • 9:00 am - Run / Walk starts

The latest hour by hour weather report from www.weather.com for Minneapolis, MN looks promising.  The rain chance is very low until 12 noon!  Looks like the "Don't Rain" dance is working!

It's a great time to socialize with other pets and people, chase a few squirrels and connect with your K9.

Dogs are optional.  We expect 60% of our participants to be running with dogs.  That means that 40% will be without. You can walk / run with or without your canine companion. Strollers are welcome.  Come join the fun.

Plus!  Check out the finisher medal that your dog gets!
